About this opportunity
PROTA (PROfundización Técnico-Artística — Technical-Artistic Deepening) helps circus artists transition from "performing artist" to "creating artist." The program balances three foundational areas: artistic (theory & practice), physical/corporal, and a chosen technical specialty.
**Schedule**
Academic year: 22 September 2026 – 28 May 2027.
Three modality options:
- Basic: 11 hours/week (4h body + 6h specialty + 1h mentoring)
- Intermediate: 15 hours/week (8h body + 6h specialty + 1h mentoring)
- Double: 20 hours/week (8h body + 10h specialty + 2h mentoring)
**Curriculum**
Core physical: Acrobatics, Trampoline, Physical Conditioning, Group Acrobatic Balancing.
Core artistic: Theater, Dance, Acrodance, Creation Workshop, Tutoring.
Theory: Circus History, Functional Anatomy, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Pedagogy, Lighting/Sound, Safety Techniques, Makeup, Aesthetic Realization, Career Guidance.
Specialty options: Hand-to-hand acrobatics, Verticals, Apparatus balance (ball, wire, tightrope, roller, unicycle), Aerial techniques (trapeze, hoop, rope, fabric, straps), Juggling, Seesaw, Mast.
Each participant receives a designated mentor (choreographer, artistic director, theatrical interpretation, clown, etc.).
**Cost**
- Basic Modality: €2,350/year
- Intermediate Modality: €2,900/year
- Double Modality: €3,700/year
Full annual payment required upon acceptance to secure enrollment.
**Application & entry requirements**
Applicants must have a technical/artistic level equal to or greater than someone completing the second year of Carampa's Professional Course, and present a sketch of a performance piece or act to develop during the program. Open for solo artists or duos.

Evaluation assesses three axes: physical, creative, and technical specialty (including the submitted project).
